Island Mystery: The Missing Crabs

Uncategorized / Monday, October 10th, 2016

{Island Mystery is a series in which I give you clues about the mysterious island paradise that I am living on.}

It is kind of interesting to see people out at nights, with bottle torches, running after crabs during crab season here. Those eaten are mostly land crabs, and they have big claws, but not the very large ones. They live in holes and are very good at hiding quickly.
The crabs on this island come out mostly at nights, and can be seen even when driving on the highways.
A couple years ago, my family received two large crabs from a friend. We placed them in a bucket, but the two fellows plotted, and found an escape route!
One night, about two weeks later, I was in the living room when I saw the curtain in the reading corner moving as if something was tugging on it. I sounded the alarm, and everyone in the house gathered to investigate the matter.
To our surprise, one of the crabs was hiding all along (at least two weeks) in our house! We got hold of him once again, and the rest is history!
Also, just a few years ago, I woke up and found another land crab in my bedroom! He was lucky I had other plans for breakfast ☺☺
I hope you have a great week☺ Happy Monday!

  1. Praise the Lord you didn't FEEL him in the bed with you!!! I would have died! We go crab hunting for fun on the beach when we go to the beach. The grands love it. They are too little to eat but fun to catch and then let them all go at once. Talk about some feet scattering! Hugs and blessings, Cindy
