Island Mystery: Donkey

Uncategorized / Monday, September 19th, 2016

{Island Mystery is a series in which I give you clues about the mysterious island paradise that I am living on.}

While there are beautiful highways on the island, donkeys are still used by some islanders. They are rarely seen these days, but some farmers and other residents still make use of them.

They are beautiful and loyal creatures. But they sometimes flip and might give you a kick with the hind legs! I am so not joking☺

They are great for carrying baskets with farm produce. And some people still use them in very rural communities for transportation on very narrow roads.

Donkeys are also dressed up for beautification in tourist areas. Cute!

I have been on one… When I was a little girl. Not for the ride, only for some photos. Too scared of being kicked!

Happy Monday and have a fabulous week♥♥

  1. thanks for your comment on my blog site–
    in high school I kept asking my Dad for a horse–he got me a donkey–we named him Eorr–the only one who could ride him was my boy friend and he would ride him around the pasture and all at once the donkey would stop suddenly and my boy friend would come sliding off his head unto a heap on the ground–it was fun to watch though!!!

  2. Dearest Summer,
    Well, we learned that Donkeys also do protect a herd of cows with calves, kicking coyotes when they come close. So they are a very protective animal, kind of body guard function.
    I had no idea about that aspect.
    Lovely photo you show us.
