What Makes You Smile Around Your Home?

Uncategorized / Monday, August 29th, 2016

Isn’t this tea kettle by PW cute? I need it in my kitchen soon!

I like to decorate with elements and styles that make me feel good about my home. I always want to get that feeling of comfort and happiness as I go about my daily business when I’m home.

I love to decorate with baskets and flowers! They put a smile on my face most times when I see them.

My teapot makes me smile too ☺

Do you decorate with things that put a smile on your face whenever you see them? What things in your home make you happy when you see them?

  1. You have a beautiful and uplifting blog and your pics are gorgeous! Decorating with things that make one happy is what makes a house a home…pictures of my family, framed lyrics of my favorite songs, sentimental elements with back stories of precious memories, and even a few items that trigger smiles only to me create a peaceful sanctuary in my home that hopefully is felt by all who visit…

Thank you for visiting my blog and your kind words on my anniversary!

  2. I love tea pots, also. In fact, I found a Japanese cast iron tea set at the thrift store earlier this summer. Over the weekend, a guest told me how much she loved it! That made my day.
    Enjoy your Monday.

  3. I love tea pots as well. I love my coffee in the morning, but tea is so relaxing. I love fresh flowers, but I have a cat that also loves them. I have yet to find a place to put them that he can't get at them and eat them. Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog!

  4. Your teapot is beautiful! My cat makes me smile quite a bit but having a nice breakfast and cup of tea in the morning also makes me smile, as I do love tea. 🙂

  5. Gorgeous teapot! Flowers make me happy, but I'd rather have potted plants sprouting flowers than cut ones. I love greenery! The more plants the better. Only problem is that I don't have a particularly green thumb. 😉

  6. Our dog Jake is what we smile at the most, but I do love to walk into our living room when the sun is shining. it makes me feel happy. this teapot is beautiful and would make me happy to…I have a nook with glass animals and they make me happy

  7. I love flowers too. Real flowers and floral fabrics mixed in make me smile. That tea pot is so pretty and I never would have guessed it was something we could get at WM! Looks like a Mackenzie Childs item. 🙂

  8. This laptop's screen showing those cookies beside your teapot makes me smile. 🙂
At Michaels last spring I found a bouquet of white fabric gerber daisies that are so bright they light up the room. I'm not a big daisy fan, but they are so cheery I had to buy them.

Mostly they are vintage items, some handed down from family, others are thrift store or flea market finds. I have a collection of enamelware items in the kitchen that I just adore. 14. I like to surround myself with little sentimental items I've collected or that have been given to me… I like walking into each room, and looking at something, and thinking "oh.. that was my mom's little statute and I just love it and it reminds me of her"….. I do that with many things.. and like pictures of times gone by… they bring back good memories which I love.

  15. That's a beautiful tea kettle. I love the colorful flower pattern!
